In this stage of prenatal development, you might be able to feel the baby’s heart beat. It gives a chance to experience the life inside you as closely as possible. Those who have heard it say that it is like the “thunder of horses” but no one is better than you to explain how it feels to hear your baby for the first time. You may begin to see your waistline growing thicker by this time.

PHYSICAL CHANGES:

  • Increased appetite
  • Occasional headaches
  • Pressure in lower abdomen
  • Frequent urination
  • Nausea / vomiting and excessive salivation

EMOTIONAL CHANGES:

  • A sense of calmness

Your Baby:


The neck is beginning to take shape. By the end of 10 weeks, the fetus brain is effectively mapped out. All of the organs, muscles and nerves are in place and beginning to function. The ears get close to their final form.

There is differentiation of fingers, toes and tooth buds in the gums. The hands and feet develop into fingers and toes. The touch pads on the fingers are formed and already have fingerprints.
