Frequently Asked Questions
9th month
Q Mother-to-be: When would I deliver doctor? I am worried!
A Doctor: Why are you worrying? You have taken proper care for nine months. Now this is the month to prepare yourself mentally and physically to welcome the baby. After completion of 37 weeks , baby is fully matured, so even if you deliver, you should not worry , just concentrate on your breathing and joint exercises.
Q Mother-to-be: How will I know that my delivery time has come?
A Doctor: Every patient shows different signs when her delivery time comes closer,. Acute backache, reddish vaginal discharge, loose
motions, watery discharge, contraction and relaxation of uterus , leg cramps, heaviness in the lower abdomen are some of the signs to look for and you should immediately consult your doctor.
Q Mother-to-be: Will my delivery be caesarean or normal? How will I know?
A Doctor: Safety of the child and mother is most important consideration at delivery time. If you have strong labour pains and baby’s heartbeats are normal , you will definitely deliver normally . But if there is dark(meconium) stained discharge the decision might change . Moreover if you are having placenta previa, if it’s a breech presentation or a shoulder presentation or baby’s heartbeats are uneven, you will be delivered by caesaren. You should be mentally and physically prepared and should be stable at the time of delivery i.e. the most important thing. Whatever decision your doctor takes will be the best for you and the baby.
